She walked away from a glamorous, successful career as a model for a new life as wife & mother. Following her heart, she settled into her role and fell in love with a whole new world of home with her new family and renovated her first home. “I still giggle,” Gail says, “with my cabinet-maker today over the first time we met at his cabinet shop. I looked up and saw my ‘Makita Girl’ posters on the wall.” My husband’s comment was, “Imagine how I felt!”
Inspired by her first baby, her instincts, creativity and a vision guided her to fill a niche missing in the children’s apparel industry. Gail designed and launched her own label of European inspired luxe children’s wear. The successful label found its way to exclusive boutiques across the country and Barney’s in New York. A mercantile followed and her homespun story caught the attention of International press. Features in books, media-including TV interviews followed, with Entrepreneurial guest speaking events. {See films for one of her favorite interviews.}
From the time she was a young girl, Gail’s has been forever inspired by her love of vintage and old homes. She’s obsessed with custom craftsmanship and creating a one a one-of-a kind look. She’s a hunter and gatherer of vintage finds from flea markets, antique shops and barn sales. The found items are brought into her design, and now she will show you how she does it.
“I want to inspire you with beautiful optimism. And, in my heart, I believe that HOME is EVERYTHING. There is no facet of the home concept that doesn’t pull at my heart!” says Gail.
